If you are getting a car for a week or more, book it at least a week out and get it at the airport. All the big companies are represented at the airport. We usually book our cars on Travelocity or Expedia (use the Canadian versions (.ca) if you are from Canada) and go with the cheapest option.

Adventures in Xel-ha or Xcaret….
Xel-Ha – The Snorkeling Heaven (ishel-ha) is a great pick for 1st time snorkeling, or people whom do not want to open water snorkeling on windy days when the ocean is rough.

Known as “The Island of the Birds” this four mile long island is a mere 22 yards wide. The 435-acre island is the perfect habitat for more than 60 species of marine birds. It is also a popular spot for the marine turtle. Access is by permission of SEDESOL.

A popular park with swimming at the beach. It was once a great place to snorkel but the coral reef is now dead so the area does not attract the vibrant population of fish it once did.

When people go on vacation they love to relax, eat great food, go to the amazing beaches, check out the nightlife, and of course shop! When shopping in Playa del Carmen, and in other parts of Mexico, there are many things that people like to buy; local art, glassware, hand crafted pottery, silver, hammocks, Mexican Chocolate, and of course tequila! and everything is just great, and the price even sure you always know how to treat! but people in Mexico are very polite and friendly and always smiling is a pleasure to buy in Mexico. and in the center of Playa you can find pretty much everything!.
PLAYA DEL CARMEN
From Playa del Secreto over the Highway 307, you can get to the main square of Playa del Carmen via the city’s main street, known as Avenida Juarez it take no more than 15 minutes to downtown. From there, you can get to another major street, known as 5th Avenue or “Quinta Avenida.” “ THE SHOPPING av”.This street lies parallel to the beach, and is lined with various hotels, restaurants, bars and shops.
